Neighborhood Crime Increased: She Needed to Learn to Protect Herself!

Why Did You Decide to Join AWA?
After the crime in my neighborhood started to rise, I felt the need to learn how to protect myself and my home. There was an invitation on a chat from an AWA member for women to attend a meeting. I attended the meeting and took a first steps pistol orientation class because I had never shot a pistol before. The leader of the chapter saw that I was left handed like her and took me under her wing and helped me pick out a pistol for me to own. I then continued taking two more training classes and obtained my CPL. I am getting to know the others in the group. They are great diverse group. That leader moved to another chapter and the other co-leaders have taken over and I look forward to each and every meeting still.

How Has Being A Member Changed Your Life?
I am confident now with a firearm and am glad to be part of a group of very skilled and confident women.

When you look at yourself and your AWA sisters, how would you define “Armed Women of America” not the organization, but the women who so boldly stand with you on the mission to be your own self-protector?
These women are awesome. Some are veterans, housewives, hunters, competition shooters young and older. We learn and share our skills together.
