AWA teams up with NSSF for National Shooting Sports Month®

Armed Women of America announces the organization’s involvement in promoting National Shooting Sports Month®, in partnership with NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association. Created to encourage participation in the shooting sports while promoting firearm safety, National Shooting Sports Month takes place throughout August as it celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Coinciding with America 250, this year’s campaign features the theme “Let Freedom Plink” — highlighting freedom and the joy of the shooting sports for enthusiasts of all experience levels.

“We are excited to participate in NSSF’s National Shooting Sports Month by promoting it to our members and encouraging them to share with others!” said Jan Ennenga, AWA Executive Director.

“This is the perfect incentive for our members to introduce someone new to the sports they enjoy and for those who haven’t been out target shooting lately to get back out there for some practice. Bringing a friend to your next chapter meeting is a great way to introduce them,” she said.

“Last year’s National Shooting Sports Month was a tremendous success, thanks to hundreds of ranges, retailers and firearm industry organizations and media members across the country reminding people about the fun and excitement of target shooting,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Member Development. “We’re thrilled to have Armed Women of America join in continuing the celebration of the shooting sports this year as we commemorate 250 years of freedom and a decade of National Shooting Sports Month.”

Whether you’re an experienced target shooter, a hunter or a person just becoming interested in acquiring a first firearm and learning how to shoot, NSSF invites you to visit a firearms retailer during National Shooting Sports Month to learn about the many types of shooting sports and firearms safety.
