My Story ~ From Bank Robbery Victim to Confident Self-Protector!

Why did you decide to join AWA?
I was a victim in a bank robbery. After living in fear for many years, I took a CC class in 2016. A client told me about AWA.  Since becoming a member of AWA, I’ve become confident with my firearm skills. Every month, I learn something new. Our leaders and speakers are excellent! Our host range is great. Individual and group instruction is phenomenal. I’ve learned so much and love our AWA family. We’re there to help and uphold our Second Amendment right.

How has being a member changed your life?
I know I’ll never be a victim again! I feel confident. I love being a AWA member because of our leaders and everything I’ve learned. I took a RSO course, to give back some of my knowledge. I love going to the range to build my skills, building the goals we work on, at AWA meetings.

When you look at yourself and your AWA sisters, how would you define “Armed Women of America” not the organization, but the women who so boldly stand with you on the mission to be your own self-protector?
We are definitely a family of like-minded women.  We are building each other up. Sharing skills, learning how to improve every time we meet at the range. Instruction is always excellent and welcome.  I always feel amazing and accomplished with AWA members.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?
I’m grateful for AWA! I went from being a victim and afraid, to a confident trained AWA member. I plan to build my skills further. Thank you for this opportunity to share my story.
